Memphis BBQ Sauce

Postby Hippieforever99 » Tue May 23, 2006 8:45 am

3 Tablespoons butter
1/4 Cup minced onion
1 Cup white vinegar
1 Cup tomato sauce
1/4 Cup worcestershire sauce
2 Teaspoons sugar
1 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/8 Teaspoon cayenne
Dash tabasco sauce
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and saute for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the onions begin to turn golden. Stir in the remaining ingredients, reduce the heat to low, and cook until the mixture thickens, approximately 20 minutes. Stir frequently.

Hey There

Evening Peter. I think that you will enjoy it and it is easy and taste great. I have tons of recipes that I have come across for all sorts of BBQ sources. I felt that I would put this BBQ's website recipe section to good use and start to share things that I have found here and there. I figure that it would help people to try different things or give others different ideas to work from. I hope that some of them will interest you. Good Luck. Dave 8)

Thank you Dave, I tried for years to get the owner of the Rendevous in Memphis to give me the recipe of his sauce! I ordered in Corkys for a while too but, they are not nearly as good as they used to be since they went so commercial and franchised out that way. I'm going to try this sauce it looks yummy!! 8)
