This format of BBQ comp is an aweful lot to pull off I got to say.

If you are interested in getting your feet wet in comp then I would suggest maybe you start by checking out the Paris comp where its meat only..

To do the Open comp with turn in boxes, sides, meats and onsite judging is a hand full to say the least... Not to say it aint been done before but I am just saying..

Listowel is also meat only. We supply the meat and turn in boxes, you rub it and cook it, cut it and turn it in. P.M. me for more info

Just curious, other than the fact that Caiti is a moderator, what gives this a sticky to stay at the top of the page when it hasn't been commented on in over 2 1/2 months, whereas Paris, Ottawa and Listowel don't?

Why you asking the question when you already know the answer Dave...

Hi,
I just came across this and am thinking about the amateur rib comp. I take it that load in is when you can get a vehicle in there with all Your gear? The other thing I noticed is that the total cook time is 5 hours. I often cook that long, and then rest my ribs for an hour. How come so tight? Is that a competition thing?

Sorry if I sound stoopid, but this would be a first for me.

Cheers,
Canada Mike

Thanks for pointing that out Dave. Taken care of.
