Blue Mountain BBQ and Chili Cookoff

Postby Schultz » Thu Mar 01, 2012 12:40 am

Does anyone know if this event is going to run? And if so, what is the date for the event?

Seems odd in February to have to plan my summer. But, that is the reality.

I have emailed last years' organizers and ans of yet have no response. I am curious if anyone has some insight.

Thanks

" rumor " Thats too bad. Paris has been running for as long as I can remember, think it might be the first event I ever attended and was always a lot of fun. Was that not always on Fathers Day weekend ?

Having Collingwood on the same weekend as Paris would not be a good idea.....I for one got my start in Paris and have always returned......not for the prize money, Trophy's, Tractor parts. Ect....But for the Good friends and good times, and of course to chill with our pals Happy Grillmore!!! and the rest of you crazy BBQ Teams.
Q` Canucks hope to be there again this year once the date and info become available, and we hope to see our old friends there as well.....Reg.....I think you should make the trip out to see us........i will have a chair for you at Q`n Canucks site anytime.

Cheers Tiny b2

Thanks for the invite Tiny, I might just take you up on that one, that is if I'm not cooking lol. Depending on the date and if I could talk an old friend into cooking again there is an outside chance we might be there. And of course it would depend on one other thing ...

Tiny

I am in total agreement with you. And Reg knows there will always be a beer waiting for him at our site.

I am surprised that no date for Collingwood has been confirmed. The Chili portion of the cook-off has been going on for quite some time now. Also the logistics of putting together an event of the magnitude of last year year I would think would be huge.

I have been very busy outside of BBQ. But I believe that Paris is still the same weekend as always. One weekend prior to father's day. Hopefully someone can confirm this and Collingwood.

The Blue Mountain BBQ Championships are booked for June 16th.

More information from the organizers to be released soon.

Paris has yet to contact CSBBQA to verify their dates. I hope to hear from them soon.

I went to the Paris Agricultural Society website and it shows the hobby expo June 9,10th. I would assume that Paris Comp will be the week before Blue Mountain.

I spoke with Brian Witteveen who will be organizing the Paris competition. He has informed me that it will be the weekend of June 8, 9 & 10th so there will be no confilict with Blue Mountain. Paris will not be part of the Upper Canada Virtual Circuit this year but we ask all Pro teams to mark them on your calendar and give them full support.

Please be informed that John McEachren is in Charge of Paris and all direction will go through him as Brian & Strodes will be the title sponsor and will be taking direction from John as well. Do not contact Brian or Strodes for anything other than an entry form for this event. Stay tuned for other postings from John soon, as the final prep work is being done. John will also be posting all information about the mmm...BBQ amateur series which Paris will be a part of.

Cheers to all those who drink rum

WOW, does anyone have any idea of what the h--- is going on here. Is this an amature event or an open BBQ event. This is getting very confusing.

What Pairs is not, is a CSBBQA sanctioned event and therefore will not participate in UC Virtual Championship's Jack Ticket.

What it will probably be is a good time for all!

Well Harley before this post I had a lot of respect for you but after reading this reply I have lost it. It is a shame in what form BBQ in Ontario/Canada has evolved into.
