I'm always amazed at what people say, even in an open internet discussion.
I do not reply to many posts on here, and am happy to see that some are trying hard to get the whole BBQ scene in Southern Ontario back on track.
I also know that reg needs no one to defend him, he is quite capable of doing that himself.
Ten years ago I got into smoking because of reg's advice, and it was he who I first bumped into at a Paris contest. I was there because of a bbq board that reg ran at the time. It was the place for us to discuss bbq. I learned a great deal from reg's forum, and it was mostly from that forum that I learned enough to be able to smoke ribs that were at least edible. I doubt if reg even remembers me, from the one time we met and chatted.
Now I see others who don't seem to be aware of much - especially if it happened before they became experts in smoking - passing judgement on others and making some silly comments about others.
To those who want to get all into their own opinions about others, let me say that you may want to look into the history and accomplishments of others before you start saying things. Others who know the history will judge you on what you say, since that is the only thing they know about you.
I will now get off my soap box.
Oh, one more thing; I am older than reg, I have an aversion to sand, and I love nothing better than learning new techniques and processes for smoking meat.
